SOLD - Original Painting “Mandolin & Box” by George Gilbert

Art plays such an important role to the interior of a home. As a fan of original pieces this one rocks all the boxes.  In acrylics and named “Mandolin and Box” by George Gilbert, ARR with a neutral wooden frame and mount so as not to distract from the art itself.

Artist: George Gilbert was born, educated and grew up in Glasgow.  He trained at Glasgow School of Art 1957-61 under William Armour and David Donaldson followed by a year of post graduate study (1961-62 Highly Commended).  He then taught in schools in Aberdeenshire, Glasgow and Fife 1963-88.  In 1989 he left teaching to paint full time.

He’s exhibited widely in the UK with many solo shows as well as group and mixed exhibitions including the RSW, RSA and the RGI.
